René Perez, known as Residente, one of the most famous and controversial artists from Puerto Rico wanted to say something different.  We suggested doing a DNA test to reveal his genetic makeup, the genes that reflect the convoluted history of humankind and the final twist of the Latin American story.  The information becomes the basis for his latest album as we travel and film in all the regions that provided the biological makeup of his genes and work with local artists from Siberia to Ghana and from China to Niger to create a Grammy winning album that tells the story of one man and all of humanity.

RESIDENTE

For many seasons the war on drugs has provided hundreds of stories to US TV channels feeding an audience hooked on law enforcement documentaries that take the viewer behind the scenes.  We are given the opportunity to take them further, to take them to countries where the ravages of this policy are creating havoc in society.  From the Philippines to Colombia, from the Straits of Gibraltar to the killing streets of Guatemala, a series for Fusion and Discovery and a story that refuses to make any sense.

DRUG WARS SEASON 4

Artists are often the expression of the needs and desires of a society.  But art requires an individual quality that is sometimes difficult to bring together.  As part of Soy Capaz, the peace building campaign, we were able to bring over 60 of the most representative figures in Colombian pop, rock and traditional music to interpret a song created by Colombian mega star Carlos Vives, free of rights, appearance or performance fees.  During three days stars ranging from  Maluma,      J. Balvin, Juanes, Fonseca, to Totó la Momposina, left their egos at the door as they came together to express a feeling of hope through their words, their talent and specially their ability to join hands in a unique effort.

ILO WEB SERIES

Can we tell the story of challenges we face in one square mile in any corner of the world?  This is the premise of a BBC series that involved difficult filming conditions and developing intimate access in complex situations to reveal why our global challenges can always be traced to local problems and have often tragic costs that say more than just statistics.  We film in the most violent neighborhoods in Guatemala City, the Amazonian tri-frontier between Brazil, Colombia, and Peru, one of the youngest capital cities in the world in Timor L'Este, and in the meeting ground between East and West, Istanbul.
